Nu-Mcs (New Microphone Cyphas) uses Cypha's* and Hip-Hop Culture* to educate "Each One Teach One" and promote positive music.
The Cypha consists of a circle of rappers/singers performing in a clockwise direction. Each artist delivers his or her lyrics (usually freestyle) in a clockwise direction, in succession. The music events promote and support artists understanding and self-development within the Independent Urban U.K Music (I.U.U.M) scene. The Cypha is not an Open Microphone event where artists entertain and perform in for a crowd or a Battle event where artists compete with each other for lyrical superiority. The Cypha focuses upon the artist's collective performance and what the individual artists can contribute to the Cypha. - Ian Solomon-Kawall (Nu-Mcs 2005).
